Japantown Community Congress of San Jose

About
The Japantown Community Congress of San Jose is a 501c3 organization with a focus on the preservation of San Jose Japantown-one of the three remaining Japantowns left in the United States. Our programs include the Japantown Prepared! (emergency preparedness team) and the Nikkei Community Intern program (a summer program for college students to familiarize them with organizations and individuals in San Jose to gain a better understanding of our community). We also maintain the several monuments in Japantown. Our Board of Directors is a team of diverse individuals representing Japantown organizations, businesses, property owners and at large individuals with a mission to preserve the historic character of this neighborhood. We are proud to have restored the Nikkei Lantern and assisted with the coordination of the media attention for the Pioneer Stone.

Our Nikkei Matsuri Connection
We enjoy engaging with the community at Nikkei Matsuri to tell them about the various monuments and collaborate with other organizations to strengthen our efforts to unite Japantown.
